Where we come from
The founders and leading scientists of Arbor Assays have been researching and developing high-quality test kits since 1982. We grew up manufacturing FDA-regulated in vitro diagnostic products for the detection of human disease. When we began manufacturing products for the life sciences market in 1991, we realized that sensitivity, speed, convenience, quality, and service were not associated with these products. We change that for you.
On January 1, 2017, Arbor Assays became the world’s first employee-owned life sciences company through a perpetual employee benefits trust (EBT). Like EBT, the board of directors ensures that the company remains an independent entity for the benefit of customers and employees. For the customer, employee ownership means that the company can be counted on to continually experiment, innovate, and provide high-quality products. For employees, ownership means greater job security and career satisfaction without the fear that Arbor Assays will be sold to a larger development company.

Arbor Assays employees have more than 50 years of combined experience in the design, development, construction and manufacture of assays exclusively for use in the FDA’s research and in vitro diagnostic markets.
We never compromise on quality. Throughout the website, you will see the phrase “N-Cal ™” on several of the pages. This refers to kits in which the standard is calibrated with reference materials from the WHO or the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Any kit is only as good as the referenced standard.
